On 07/03/2023, our University Senate convened under the chairmanship of Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli and decided that, as the Senate of Malatya Turgut Özal University, it is necessary for project applicants or partner organisations in projects supported by the European Commission to implement mechanisms that ensure gender equality in education, research, management and social life. In this context, it was decided to prepare a ‘Gender Equality Action Plan’ based on the ‘Horizon Gender Equality Policies’ policy document. Establishing a commission based on gender equality, organising conferences, seminars, etc. to raise awareness of gender equality, ensuring that the MTÜ curriculum includes a course on Gender Equality and Combating Discrimination, and establishing safe spaces on campuses and taking the necessary measures, etc.
